Privacy Policy

Information you provide. When you run a scan, you give us a company website and, optionally, competitor website URLs. We use these only to crawl the public pages of those sites and generate your competitive briefing. You don’t need an account, and we don’t ask for personal information to use the tool.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic usage data through Google Analytics 4 — such as the pages you visit, your approximate (city-level) location, device and browser type, and how you interact with the site. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies.

• To crawl the sites you point us at and produce the presence scores and briefing.
• To understand how the tool is used and improve it.
• To keep the service secure and reliable, including basic abuse/rate-limit protection.

We do not sell your personal information.

To produce your report and run the site, we share limited data with trusted providers, each of which processes it under its own terms:

• OpenAI — the text BizGap reads from the company and competitor sites you enter is sent to OpenAI to find competitors (when you don’t supply your own) and to write the comparative briefing (OpenAI Privacy Policy).
• Google Analytics — for the usage analytics described above (how Google uses data).

We use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies (such as _ga) to measure traffic and usage. You can:

• Opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

We don’t maintain user accounts and don’t store the sites you scan or the reports we generate — each scan is processed fresh and discarded once the response is sent to your browser. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.

Depending on where you live (for example, under the California CCPA/CPRA or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, and to opt out of certain processing. Because we don’t maintain accounts or store scan data, most of what we hold is anonymous analytics. To make a request, contact us below.

BizGap is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU), and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date above.
